About Me

My name is Nicholas Cifuentes-Goodbody, and I’m the Associate Director for Articulation and Assessment at the University of Southern California. Before coming to USC, I worked as a Program Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Translation Studies at Hamad bin Khalifa University in Qatar and an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Williams College in Massachusetts.

I’m a Carpentry instructor and love leading software workshops with my AuthorCarpentry friends at the CalTech library. I also have a YouTube channel where I teach courses on Zotero, Markdown, and other tools for academic writing.

This blog is a record of my efforts to be a life-long learner, especially in the area of data science.

You can find my publications on the Zotero website. I’m also on Orcid and Google Scholar.

If you’d like to get in touch with me, see the social media buttons below. Twitter and LinkedIn are best.

Also, I run a Slack group for folks interested in using technology to make academic writing easier. If you like Markdown, .bib files, LaTeX, Zettelkasten, Zotero and other such nerdery, you should join!
